Description
The southern valley of Cusco is made up of important archaeological sites such as Tipon, Pikillacta. In addition, you can enjoy the beautiful landscapes and the exquisite local cuisine. You will also visit a colonial church known as the “Sistine Chapel of America”.
It is an important place for the development of the Inca empire. This tour is perfect for people looking to experience archaeological sites and magnificent landscapes.
ITINERARY
ITINERARY
We pick you up from your hotel at 09:00 hours. We head south of Cusco for approximately 40 minutes. Once there we visit the archaeological center of Tipon, there you will see the magnificent hydraulic architecture. This place houses 12 agricultural terraces that still cultivate with an irrigation system, where the water flows through extensive carved stone canals.
Then you will visit Pikillacta, this complex made of adobe was built by the Wari culture, between 700 and 900 AD. A few meters from the area, you will see a small Inca site known as Rumicolca.
Afterwards, you will continue the tour to Andahuaylillas, a place that houses a beautiful church of the sixteenth century, which has an impressive organ decorated with angels and cherubs. In addition, you can contemplate the mural paintings and altars decorated with gold. After this beautiful tour we return to Cusco and take you to your hotel.
