Description

 The sacred valley is a territory that extends along the Vilcanota river or Wilcamayu “sacred river” which rises from two glaciers of the Vilcanota mountain range. All this valley is characterized by the large number of archaeological sites such as palaces, terraces, canals.

Towards the top of this valley are the snowy Pitusiray and Sahuasiray and wacayhuillca “snowy of the veronica”. Currently, this valley produces a variety of types of corn as a flagship product.

ITINERARY

1: Itinerary

This tour will start picking you up from your hotel at 7:40 AM. We will take you to the Sacred Valley of the Incas towards the town of Pisac (2972 MSNM), located 34 km from Cusco. Before arriving to Pisac we will make a stop at the Taray viewpoint, where you will have a spectacular view of the area. Once in Pisac, you will visit the ruins overlooking the Vilcanota River, which will amaze you with its fascinating architecture. You will also visit the colorful market of Pisac, where you will find various products of the area that you can buy.

After the guided tour in Pisac, we will take you to a tourist restaurant, where you will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch. Then you will arrive at the Inca site of Ollantaytambo (2700 MSNM). This archaeological center is built with stone material extracted from the quarry of Q’achicata. There are also important buildings characterized by having different sectors such as the religious sector, agricultural, water worship and Manyaraqui square.

In this sector highlights the temple of the sun composed of six huge lithic blocks where some representations are still evident as felines and staggered symbols. We will continue our journey to the town of Chinchero where you will enjoy the wonderful view, Chinchero is a small and picturesque Andean town, you will visit a textile art center, where you will appreciate their original works and learn about their techniques and creative process.

Then you will visit the important Inca archaeological center, built in the late fifteenth century, you can also observe a panoramic view of its beautiful and traditional church. Finally, we return to the city of Cusco and take you to your hotel.
