Description
Experience a section of the incredible Inca Trail for 2 days and 1 night. A combination of adventure and luxury designed for those travelers with limited time, it´s ideal for travelers who wish to experience the magic of the Inca Trail.
This route is considered one of the best hiking trails and will take you into the breathtaking mountain scenery and lush landscapes of the Urubamba Valley, with vegetation and mysterious constructions such as the Inca site of Wiñayhuayna.
Most importantly, the hike ends at the Sun Gate with the first spectacular view of Machu Picchu.
ITINERARY
DAY 01: CUSCO – KM 104 – WIÑAYWAYNA – MACHUPICCHU VILLAGE (AGUAS CALIENTES).
We start with the pick up from your respective hotel in Cusco at 4:30 AM, we board our tourist transport to Ollantaytambo station (1 hour and 30 minutes). From the station we take the 7:40 AM train to Km 104 for 1 hour (2200 m/7217 ft).
At this point we start the hike for 3 hrs approx. to the archaeological site of Wiñayhuayna (2650 msnm = 8694 ft above sea level). This Inca site has a beautiful landscape and historical importance and is one of the most photographed tourist attractions on this trekking route.
After lunch we will continue to the Intipunku or Sun Gate (2730m/ 9007 ft), this construction is formed by enclosures with windows and doors where the sun’s rays enter every summer solstice.
From this point you have a spectacular view of the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu in all its splendor and majesty. We will then walk down to Aguas Calientes (Machupichu Pueblo), where you can settle for the night in a hotel.

DAY 02: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO
After eating breakfast at the hotel, we start early and walk for 1:30 minutes (the bus is optional) until we reach the Machu Picchu checkpoint.
We enter the sanctuary of Machu Picchu, (2453 m / 7972 ft). This ancient Inca city is one of the most precious treasures of Peru, and in this mysterious wonder of the world are sacred huacas, very important ceremonial fountains, etc.. Your expert guide will then lead you through the ruins and its various main streets for about 2 hours.
You will then have some free time to explore on your own (Machu Picchu or Huaynapicchu mountain). These excursions are optional, and you must consult us at least 3 months in advance as these excursions are limited.
After marveling, you must return to Aguas Calientes (Machupichu Pueblo) and wait for your train to return to Ollantaytambo station, which takes 2 hours. Our transportation will be waiting for you to return to Cusco.

Porters (people who carry your packs) are not included in this trek, so you will carry your own things. We recommend you to carry only what you need for these days.
