Itinerary
DAY 1: CUSCO – HIDROELECTRICA – AGUAS CALIENTES
On Day 1 of our Machu Picchu tour by car, we will start the tour at the Machu Picchu Reservations Office at 6:00 am in Cusco for a scenic 6-hour drive to Hydroelectric. On the way, we will stop at Hydroelectric for a delicious lunch. After lunch, we will continue the 3-hour hike to Aguas Calientes.
Get ready for a scenic 3-hour, 11 km hike over flat terrain to the base village of Machu Picchu. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, you will be taken to your hotel, where you can freshen up and relax. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner in town and prepare for an exciting day exploring Machu Picchu.
DAY 2: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – HIDROELECTRICA – CUSCO
We will wake up around 4:00 am to start the hike will be approx. 1:30 minutes, the point of this is so we can appreciate the sunrise from the Inca city and be the first to reach the top, we will make a 2-hour tour inside Machu Picchu, and then you will have free time to explore on your own.
After our visit to Machu Picchu, around 11:30 am, we will walk back to Aguas Calientes, then we will walk for three hours to the Hydroelectric bus station to take the bus back to Cusco for approximately 6 hours so we will be back in Cusco around 10 pm.

However, we will make sure you receive detailed information, including hotel addresses. Many people choose these routes because they are the second gateway to Machu Picchu. Rest assured that walking through these canyons of Machu Picchu is easy and safe.

A 2-day excursion to Machu Picchu by car requires a simple but well-thought-out packing list to ensure you have a comfortable and enjoyable experience. Here is a basic list to get you started:

- Water bottle or hydration pack (at least 1-2 liters)
